To impove students' language proficence in English, the University annual held the English Eassy Written and Debate Competition for all undergraduate and graduate students. As English language is now global language notonly  for communication but also for technology such as the internet. Therefore to encourage the univerity students to be able to stand up with international level, they need to prepare for english language professionency.

With aim to promote students' english proficiency, the Final Competition of English Speaking Contest for 2007 was held at Yangon Technological University. The Rector, Dr. Mya Mya Oo delievered the opening speeach. All professors from YTU act as an judgement to judge for contestants at English Speaking Contest.

19th-20th, Augut 2008, the English Debate Competition was held at Yangon Technological University. Dr. Mya Mya Oo, the Rector, acted as a chairmain and professors performed as committee members in this competition. All representative students from technological universities competed and they had to pass the three level of debating. Competators also had to answer the Questioners for the prepared speech shooting questions and Questioners for the impromptu speech shooting questions.

The annual competition for The Final English Eassy Writing and Debate Competition was held at Yangon Technological University in 9th February 2008. All technological universities' representative students participat in this final competition. Younger students participate actively in this competition. Their eassy writing improved year by year. Judges are professors from YTU.  The winner are as follows :
